Albums

Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.

Before the formation of Toto, band members did sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in the year 1976.

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their earlier albums, and was criticised for its lack of hit singles. In 1985 the lead singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group and the band held auditions for a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the album Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by scouring through old tapes and demos to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was well-loved by fans and the band embarked upon a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings and also an interview with the group.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has also released several compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the band is "Africa" which has more than one billion views. The video is set in a library and features the group performing on top of a stack of books about Africa.
