Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing the base stats of the Item Upgrader Kit or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved in loot from enemies, or gotten from missions and chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must choose it and click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are jewels that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, include their name at the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding an Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, with the exception of inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the impact of those items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This will enable the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it will be able to receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes available depends on the type of item it is. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones and crests, depending on the item upgrade's current level and the item upgrades slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to get to its maximum level The NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials however it will result in a lower chance of success.

Engineers may use a level in order to compare the height of the building against an established location, such as an existing benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item upgrader kit. It is an essential aspect of the game and can increase the damage, strength or other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item upgrader or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier to roll. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more often than other items. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for every stat. This can be a good or a bad thing, depending on your needs and requirements from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special bonus that increases the item's power by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes number sets that give a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an item. This is a good method to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster path to a powerful character, allowing them to reach high tiers and progress the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can have various sizes, contain none at all, or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways in terms of size and shape.

There are a range of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, while some are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own many armor pieces or weapons.

Some set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions, which can be particularly useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to par with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can enhance their defense, and make them more competitive when it comes to damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on their screen for their character. It will show the item's characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated appearance.
