Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was a return to a classic sextet format and a more consistent, stronger effort that had a more grittier edge. The more edgy sound of the album was a reflection of the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's greater ability on the drums and a more mature, confident vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard playing was also sharper, more complex and less akin to previous recordings.

After touring to promote their album, the band recorded the band's Amsterdam live show that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The studio album came out a few months later, and the band embarked on an extensive world tour in support of the album.
