Choosing a Double pushchair twin (visit the following post)

Find a pushchair that folds in a single step and is easy to put into your car. You might also want an ultra-lightweight design, particularly if you're tackling busy high streets.

Side-by-Side

This is the most commonly used double pushchair. It is usually able to accommodate two children side-by-side. They tend to be larger than single pushchairs. This makes them less agile on footpaths. It can also be difficult to move up and down kerbs when a car seat is attached. The extra width makes them easier to maneuver through doorways, and they are more evenly distributed so that it is easier on your back.

They can be used as twin prams for sale from birth, and many models can be used with a carrycot or 2 car seats. Some models can be converted into one mode by adding the basket (like the Cybex Venus).

The clever frame can be expanded to accommodate two seats, and you can use it as a twin from birth, thanks to the addition of two newborn cocoons (PS59 each) that provide enclosed, lie-flat areas for infants. It can also be used as a mono mode with one child due to a large shopping basket that sits behind the seat. It has both front and rear suspension which means it can take on bumps and uneven surfaces with ease. It is a top pick among our reviewers.

Tandem

If you're planning to have twins, you want a tandem pushchair that allows the children to be seated close to each other and see each other. These are great for things like visiting the zoo, because the kids will be able to gaze at all the animals together. They are also ideal for parents who need to watch both their toddler and their baby simultaneously.

Some tandem pushchairs offer extreme versatility as they can change back to single mode. This is especially useful when you're planning to have more than two children (or just your eldest does not require a buggy anymore). It means you won't have an empty pushchair to store away, which can be costly.

The Cybex Venus, for example, can be used either in double or mono mode. Its frame can expand to allow for an additional seat. It's not the lightest of pushchairs, but it does come with a large basket for shopping that sits behind the front seat in double mode (and in the back of the seat in mono mode). The seats can be placed so that they face one opposite or higher up to observe what each is doing.

Other double tandem pushchairs, like the Joolz Geo 3, are capable of seating one over the other or side by side. They have a sleek, compact frame that makes them easy to navigate through doorways and supermarket aisles Some models can be used as a jogging stroller on rough terrain, thanks to a four-wheel suspension and large rear wheels.

A tandem pushchair can also be used to carry two carrycots or a car with a buggy seat. This means you can create an entire travel stroller system from the beginning and save money on additional purchases. Keep in mind that tandems are more heavy and longer and may be less stable when bumping up the kerbs or going over uneven surfaces. They also tend to need dismantling to fit into cars.
