What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The upgrader for items adds a new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. This Manager costs 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gameplay benefit aside from making it easier to find and purchase upgrades.

Boosters

There are a myriad of boosts you can get with an upgrader. They can include a range of stats, as well as a number of extra bonuses. In addition to the stat boosts certain upgrades can also give a random secondary boost. These secondary boosts can be very valuable and should be taken into consideration when choosing which items to upgrade. Certain boosts can only be used in certain builds (such a Whistan's Shield for FB Sorcs) While others are beneficial to collectors.

Certain items come with a built-in boos which is less beneficial when upgraded. For example the Goldwrap provides extra potion slot. They are often upgraded to add more value to a close-to-perfect or perfect item.

Costs

Upgrades are accompanied by a few associated costs. The first cost is the upgrade itself. The cost for this upgrade can be costly and is contingent on the new value of the item and the number of perks it gets. It is also costly to upgrade an item to a better tier (such as Explorer > Champion or Veteran > Heroic).

The other is the cost of items needed to upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These materials can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.

Success Rate

The Upgrade Pity can be bought through the NPC for crafting in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of the upgrade being successful by some percentage. It is similar to the "luck bonus" that certain items provide, but it is more solid. It can be added to any armor or weapon, and can be used up to three times.

You can also add additional components to the upgrade to increase its chances of success. The materials are displayed in a window located above the + button. There are however limitations to this, and the largest amount of material that can be added is displayed directly above the + button in the user interface.

Another method to increase the odds of an upgrade succeeding is by using an item called the Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item can be helpful when your piece of equipment or weapon is near or has reached the maximum level of its tier. This item allows you to upgrade the equipment to the next tier without the risk of breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful it will be restored to its previous state. This is often a downgrade, but can also be an upgrade. It is a good idea to save an upgrade for when you're near the maximum level of an item, and to use it as an emergency.

Failure Rate

The upgrade window will display a percentage indicator of your chances of success. This percentage is based upon the upgrade level and core kind of item you've selected.

You can also choose a safeguard for your item that will safeguard the Best item upgrade in case of failure. The cost of this protection can differ however it will always be lower than the cost of buying a new item. The safeguard can only be used only once per upgrade and will not expire until used again.

The interface for the Best item upgrade upgrader may be a bit confusing, but it's not difficult to navigate. The main menu is visible on the left and the upgrade window is on the right.
