3 Wheeler Buggies

A three-wheel buggy is great for tackling off-road terrain providing an easy ride for your child. It is important to note that the seats do not recline completely however they can be lowered to the lowest position which should still give your child plenty of headroom and room to move around.

A fabric sling seat is also available. It offers the advantage of being set snugly inside the frame, rather than sitting on top as a modular seat and this delivers a much lower centre of gravity as well as a perfect weight distribution. This makes it easier and lighter to push especially when you're on bumpy terrain or curbs. MFM reviewer Kath was impressed with the way this type of seat dealt with these challenges.

The 3-wheeled frame is much more stable and can be pushed with just one hand. It's also ideal for terrain that is difficult. However, it means that the shopping basket can't hold as much as a four-wheeled buggy.

The MFM reviewers noted that the 3-wheeler frames couldn't pass through their doors at home or car boot. If you're concerned about space, make sure to verify the dimensions of the buggy when it is folded before purchasing.

It's worth considering a 3-wheeler that can take two (or even 3 wheel running stroller!) seats when your family grows. They are the best of both worlds and will help you save money in the future. Tyres

These tires cushion bumps and uneven surfaces to make your child's journey more comfortable. She also noted that its grippy tyres made it easy to tackle cobbles and kerbs.

They can be difficult to maintain and require having their air pressure maintained regularly. These tyres are more susceptible to punctures, and it is recommended to always carry an repair kit and spare inner tube when you're out and out and about.

PU tyres are found on more pushchairs than the air-filled tyres, yet they are still just as robust. PU tires are easily distinguished by their matte finish and supple feel. They also glide well on uneven and tied surfaces.

You can usually discern the difference between air-filled and PU tire by running your fingers over them, if it feels firm, then it's made of rubber, if it slides then it's a PU. You can also check whether your buggy comes with PU tyres sliding them on an even, smooth surface. They should roll smoothly and fit comfortably into wheel hubs.

Foam tyres can handle the rough terrain associated with high-performance buggies. This could make your buggy less stable because the foam will lose its springy nature. These tyres also make a lot of noise because they generate a lot noise when you turn or drive around the town.
