With Canon announcing the EOS R6 Mark II, the possibility of an EOS R5 Mark II is also increasing. The image sensor will be a completely new one, and will be a back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor with around 50 million pixels. Rolling shutter distortion will be significantly reduced. Continuous shooting will remain at 20 frames per second, or it may be increased to 30 frames per second. Video will be 8K60p with longer recording time. It will be compatible with CanonLog, and video functions will be enhanced. The EVF will remain at around 5.67 million dots, or it may be upgraded to around 9.44 million dots. It would be natural for the recording media to have a double slot for CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II, but the SD UHS-II may be retired soon. In that case, attention will be focused on whether it will be SDExpress or CFexpress Type A. AF will further refine the AI deep learning technology of the EOS R5 and upgrade the subject automatic recognition. There are rumors of an EOS R5S with even more pixels than the R5, but I'm personally skeptical.
