WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item upgrades level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be bought by players through item upgrader (for beginners) NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader kit upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less, even when they are part of another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. They can choose to use Flightstones, which are a general upgrade currency available to everyone, or crests, which are more specialized and are used to upgrade specific levels of the item. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content at the appropriate level. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
