WoW Upgrades - The item level upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item level upgrade is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.
